individual COUNSELLING

Individual therapy is available for in-person and online therapy. 

As with all the sessions that are offered, I strive to create a safe and welcoming environment. In my practice, I use an integrated framework that allows me to use various therapeutic orientations to create an approach tailored to your presenting concerns and current situation. From here, we can develop a mutual understanding of what is occurring and formulate a plan to mitigate negative symptoms and facilitate well-being.

In my experience, life rarely moves in a straight line and it is our resilience and the meaning we formulate from our challenges that keep us moving forward. Through the sustained counselling experience, we will develop a relationship, work to process the complexity of emotions and past experiences to build resiliency. 

I base my approach on a person-centred framework to bring respect and awareness to you as a whole. Acknowledging your unique lived experiences and collaborating on your needs in moving forward. With that, I like to incorporate Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT) into my practice, with its utility for identifying and challenging negative thought patterns. It is also a great model to better understand the correlations between our thoughts, emotions, and behaviours.
